A particularly keen re-enactor had invested in this all-over leather suit for keeping out the Plague miasma. A full length leather coat, leather gauntlets fitting over the top and a leather helmet with rigid 'beak' for stuffing with sweet-smelling herbs to filter out the pestilent vapours. The outift topped off with a wodden staff bound with a posy of herbs, for rapping on the door of the potential plague victim.
